Juventus have confirmed their interest in Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey but admit they aren’t “the only team who want him”.

BBC reporter David Ornstein claimed on New Year’s Day that Bayern Munich, Inter Milan, Juventus, PSG and Real Madrid were all officially in talks with Ramsey over a move.

The Welshman’s contract is up at the end of the current season, with The Times making it clear at the beginning of December that the Gunners aren’t interested in talks with the club hoping that Ramsey’s exit will ‘free up resources for new signings’.

And now Fabio Paratici, Juventus’ sporting director, has said that the Old Lady are interested in signing the former Cardiff City midfielder.

“He’s a great player, we really like him and he plays for a great team,” Paratici said. “His contract is expiring and we’re always alerted to situations that the market offers, so we’ve also been alerted to Ramsey.

“I repeat, for now he’s an Arsenal player and we’re not the only team who want him.”

Ramsey came off the bench to score against Fulham in the Gunners 4-1 victory and head coach Unai Emery expects him to stay until the end of the season.

“At the moment he is working with us and I think yes [he will stay until the end of the season],” Emery told reporters.

“He worked very well in Liverpool. Today [Tuesday] he played 15 minutes and he scored. He helped us for confidence and to earn a good result. I want from him this focus when he is playing.”
