First Havertz offer rejected as Chelsea owner ‘personally contacts’ him
Bayer Leverkusen have rejected an offer from Spain for their attacker Kai Havertz, while Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich has been in touch with the player, according to reports.
The 21-year-old has been on fire for Bayer Leverkusen this season, scoring 15 goals and providing eight assists, leading him to be one of the hottest prospects in European football.
There have been reports that Chelsea have held talks over a deal for the Germany international but that the Premier League club are far from the only interested outfit.

And now German website SPORTBUZZER claims that Leverkusen have ‘declined a first offer from Spain’ for Havertz with Real Madrid named as the ‘hottest candidate’ for his signature.
Moving within Germany to either Borussia Dortmund or Bayern Munich is seen as unrealistic with Real seen as Havertz’s ‘dream club’.
The report adds that Chelsea are a potential destination with Abramovich prepared to pay €100m for Havertz, using the possible sales of N’Golo Kante and Jorginho to fund a move.
Abramovich has even ‘personally contacted Havertz on the phone to make the new “Chelsea Project” palatable’.
