Kane tells Grealish he will do ‘whatever it takes’ to secure City move

Tottenham striker Harry Kane has reportedly told Jack Grealish that he will stop at nothing to force a move to Manchester City, according to reports.

The Citizens lodged an £100m bid for Aston Villa captain Grealish last week, with Sky Sports suggesting the offer will be accepted.

There has been speculation that their deal for Grealish could impact on their ability to sign Kane too in the same transfer window.

The wantaway England captain was due back at Hotspur Way on Monday morning for Covid-19 and pre-season testing after his three-week break but did not show.

He was again absent 24 hours later, but is said to be planning on returning later in the week – but they remain unimpressed by their player’s actions and could consider issuing a heavy fine.

Kane reportedly believes the action was necessary to try and force a move to Manchester City, who are keen to sign him.

It has now been claimed that Kane will report to training later this week and believes ‘the situation has been blown out of proportion’.

Tottenham were said to have been ‘massively disappointed’ by Kane’s actions this week but now another report reckons Kane will continue to force a move.

Football Insider reckon Kane has ‘confided in’ Aston Villa’s Grealish and told him he will do ‘whatever it takes’ to leave Tottenham this summer.

The report describes Kane and Grealish as ‘close’ after their time together on England duty at Euro 2020.

Kane ‘has told Grealish his desire to leave by next month’s transfer cut-off is absolute and nothing will stop him from doing so’ with the website claiming that his failure to report for work this week shows that.

The 28-year-old apparently ‘feels he has to pull out all the stops to engineer a move’ away from Tottenham this summer with City understood to be the only team in the running.

Meanwhile, Harry Redknapp doubts Spurs chairman Daniel Levy will “budge” despite Kane’s attempts to force a move.

Redknapp said: “You wouldn’t have expected that. You’d have just thought he’d have turned up and had a meeting with Daniel [Levy] again. I’m sure his advisers are meeting with Daniel [Levy] anyway and got it sorted out.

“I was a bit surprised. I’m sure he’ll come into training today [Tuesday] when the training starts but not the best way to go about it really. He’s so loved at Tottenham, it’d be a shame if that got spoilt. It shouldn’t do because of what he’s done and how much he loves the club.”

Redknapp added: “He [Kane] just feels I think now that it’s time to move but he’s got to go about it in the right way. His agents have got to sit down with Daniel [Levy] and try to [sort it out],” Redknapp continued.

“At the end of the day, unless Daniel gets the money that he wants, it isn’t going to happen. If he wants £150million and someone is offering £130million-£140million, it’s not going to get him. Daniel won’t budge.”
