Harry Kane says new Tottenham boss Nuno Espirito Santo is a “great manager” and admits to feeling the “love” from sporting director Fabio Paratici.

Kane has been heavily linked with a move to Manchester City as he searches for his first piece of silverware as a professional.

But the England captain is just two wins away of securing that goal with the national side and says any trophy he won for his country would better anything he could achieve at club level.

“I think it would mean everything,” he told talkSPORT.

“I’ve always said winning a trophy with England would always surpass anything at club level, in my opinion.

“It has been so long, what 55 years, since we won something as a national side. Just to be a part of that history and put our stamp on history would be something we’d never forget.

“We have a great opportunity now to achieve that. We have to grab it with both hands and not let it go.”

Kane also spoke about his new boss in north London, claiming Nuno is a “great manager”.

And the 27-year-old also commented on recent claims by Spurs’ new sporting director, Fabio Paratici, that the club want to keep Kane as a priority this summer.

Kane added: “Whenever a new manager comes in, I guess there’s a level of excitement around the club. Obviously, I’ve not been there and not had any contact with him.

“I’m away with England now and my full focus is on here. Hopefully, we’ve got a week left.

“He’s a great manager and did a great job at Wolves and got them playing a really good way.

“Let’s get back and I’m sure we’ll be in contact after the tournament.”

On Paratici’s comments, Kane added: “Of course as a player you want to be wanted, you want to feel like you’re loved, which I do.

“I haven’t had the chance to talk to any of these people yet. I’m sure we’ll get to know each other after the tournament, have a phone call or two once I get a week or two of holiday.

“To get praise from big people from football is great, it gives you confidence, it gives you motivation so of course it’s nice to hear.”

Kane also had a few words for Jose Mourinho.

“He’s great, he’s been texting me as well,” he said of Mourinho. “It’s common knowledge we have a great relationship and got on really well.

“I really respect him as a manager and person. I wish him all the best at Roma. It is great to have one of the best managers in the world on your side.

“I will always respect him and hopefully be in contact with him for the rest of my career.”
