Tottenham striker Harry Kane pulled out of a scheduled appearance on Friday because he was feeling ‘unwell’, according to reports.

The England captain was poised to open an exhibition about his career at the Museum of London.

Spurs present Antonio Conte with his biggest test yet: overcoming Spurs

However, The Athletic have reported that Kane has pulled out of the event because he felt ‘unwell’.

This news comes before Tottenham’s last match of the season against Norwich. If Antonio Conte’s side pick up a point they will finish fourth ahead of arch-rivals Arsenal.

The Gunners take on Everton at home on Sunday at the same time and are currently two points and 15 goals behind their north London neighbours.

Kane’s illness has sparked fears over his availability for the crucial match at Carrow Road.

Before Spurs’ game against Burnley last weekend, Conte confirmed that his squad had been hit by a stomach bug which impacted four players, including Swedish winger Dejan Kulusevski.

This news has sparked fears that the north Londoners could have another ‘Lasagne-gate’ on their hands after the dramatic conclusion to the 2005/06 season.

In 2006, Spurs went into the last game of the season at West Ham one point ahead of Arsenal and knew a win would secure them Champions League football.

However, numerous players became ill overnight, with many supposed to have helped themselves to lasagne at the London Marriott West India Quay Hotel in Canary Wharf.

Spurs tried to have the game postponed but were unsuccessful, losing 2-1 on the day, while Arsenal beat Wigan 4-2 in their final match at Highbury to finish fourth.

One player to fall ill was Michael Carrick, who wrote in his 2018 autobiography: “I’d never endured agony like this. It felt like a fire was lit in my guts with petrol poured on it again and again. The pain kept flaring up and I curled up in bed, praying for it to pass.”
