Keane hits out at Chelsea’s Luiz for ‘cheating’
Manchester United legend Roy Keane has accused Chelsea defender David Luiz of “a form of cheating” against Atletico Madrid on Wednesday night.
Atletico won a penalty in the first half when Lucas Hernandez had his shirt pulled needlessly by Luiz and Griezmann converted the spot-kick to put the Spanish side ahead.
However, goals from Alvaro Morata and Michy Batshuayi gave the Blues a 2-1 victory and their second win in the Champions League group stage to put them in command of Group C.
And following the match Keane was critical of “lazy” Luiz and said he was “glad he got punished” for his performance.
“It’s madness really. It’s a form of cheating,” Keane told ITV.
“Why he’s doing it is beyond me. He’s lazy and he’s letting his team-mates down. He knows himself.
“There’s no need. We see a lot of that going on, so I’m glad he got punished for it. It’s a form of cheating.”
