Jurgen Klopp accidentally confirmed three of his Liverpool starters for the Carabao Cup clash with Leicester City.

Welshman Danny Ward will follow Simon Mignolet and Loris Karius in donning the Liverpool goalkeeper’s shirt, while new signing Alex Ox;ade-Chamberlain and Marko Grujic will also start.

“I’m not sure the world is ready for such a crazy decision, a third goalkeeper in one season! Danny Ward will play tomorrow,” said Klopp, who will try to avoid a fourth successive game without a win.

“As long as we can line up strong, we will line up strong. I’m sure both sides will make a few changes, that makes sense.

“Marko Grujic has made a big step in his development but no-one could see it yet as he hasn’t played. It’s good to give him the chance.

“It’s a fantastic opportunity now for Alex. He had an impact when he came on. Now you have three of the line up!

“We work with him and analysts, show him how we want to play in this position, that position. It’s really good that he’s here.”

Klopp was also asked about Jon Flanagan but he seems unlikely to start the game; Joe Gomez is far likelier to feature as a centre-back.

“It would make sense that Flanno is in the squad. Playing from the beginning? He didn’t have much match time so far.

“We have a few little things. Dejan has a back problem so we have to see who lines-up in the centre-back area.”
