Jurgen Klopp has only two injuries in his first-team squad as he awaits Newcastle at Anfield.
Klopp rotated his side earlier in the season in order to avoid the fatigue and muscle injuries later in the season, and so far that seems to be holding true.
Nathaniel Clyne is still a long-term absentee, but Klopp confirmed that only two members of his recent matchday squads are out.
“Woodburn and Wijnaldum have been ill for a week or so,” Klopp said.
“It’s more than a cold. We have no big injuries it’s true and hopefully it stays like this.
“Rotation is not always about resting players, it’s about using the competition in the squad to get them to perform again.
“It’s about making pressure.”
Woodburn may not have made the squad anyway, but Wijnaldum’s absence means that Liverpool will probably play a midfield three of Emre Can, Jordan Henderson and James Milner, although Adam Lallana could play there.
