Jurgen Klopp wants €40m Real Betis ‘sensation’ at Liverpool as ‘offer’ ready for Salah backup

Reported Arsenal target Luiz Henrique celebrates a win

Jurgen Klopp reportedly wants to sign ‘sensational’ Real Betis star Luiz Henrique to provide backup for Mohamed Salah at Liverpool.

The Reds have an abundance of talented forwards but there’s no obvious replacement for Salah on the right should the Egyptian star get injured or need a rest.

Luis Diaz will vie for a starting spot on the left with Darwin Nunez, who will also compete with Cody Gakpo and Diogo Jota for the No.9 position.

And Nacional claim Liverpool ‘intend to make an offer’ for Henrique this summer to ease the burden on Salah in 2023/24.

Henrique joined Real Betis last summer for an €8m fee that the report claims ‘has been more than amortized’ through his performances.

The 22-year-old got seven assists and three goals in his debut campaign and became ‘a new idol’ for the Betis fans.

His displays have caught the eye of some European giants, including Real Madrid, Barcelona, Roma, AC Milan and Chelsea, but it’s Liverpool who are at the front of the queue. Klopp apparently ‘sees a remarkable margin of progression’ in the young forward.

‘Economic problems’ at Betis could force them into a sale and it’s claimed they want between €30m and £40m for their prized asset, which Liverpool ‘could pay without any problem’.

‘The option of ending up in Anfield is very tempting’ for Henrique and it’s claimed Betis boss Manuel Pellegrini ‘will not put obstacles if in his way so they can make the additions he has requested, such as that of Giovani Lo Celso’, who starred or Villarreal on loan from Tottenham last season.

Reports claim Liverpool have completed their midfield rebuild following the additions of Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szobozslai, and have dropped out of the running for Romeo Lavia and other defensive midfielders as there is ‘no gap to fill’.

We disagree… Liverpool must replace midfield ‘ghost’ over Szoboszlai, Barella signings, no matter what Rafa says…

They’re keen on a new centre-back with Crystal Palace star Marc Guehi among their top targets, but you can never rule out a move for another forward, as they rarely get through a transfer window without signing a new one.
