Klopp hints at retirement and Liverpool exit

Jurgen Klopp has joked about his desire to coach Bayern Munich and hasn’t ruled out retirement when his Liverpool contact expires in 2022.

Klopp has managed Liverpool since 2015 after winning the Bundesliga twice with Bayern rivals Borussia Dortmund.

He led The Reds to Champions League glory last season as they finished second in the Premier League behind Man City.

Klopp won coach of the year at the SPORT BILD awards and made the admission via video link.

“In the order I would like to do it. First national team, then Bayern, then back to BVB and then Liverpool for life,” he said.

“I have no idea [though], I really do not know that.

“I hope for now that the next two or three years will continue in the same way. And then I will decide that.”

Klopp said fans should not be surprised if he decides he wants to leave the game altogether.

“Everything is possible. So just that I stop completely, is just possible,” he added.

“Whether that is the case or not – I really do not know.

“I’m just saying that so you will not be surprised when it happens.”

Liverpool have started the season well with two Premier League wins in their search for domestic success as well as a Super Cup victory over Chelsea.
