Jurgen Klopp says that Alberto Moreno may yet have a future at Liverpool.
Moreno has struggled to establish himself as the club’s first-choice left-back since he arrived in the summer of 2014.
He lost his place in the starting line-up to James Milner this past season, while Andrew Robertson has now arrived from Hull as competition.
The Reds rejected a bid for Moreno earlier this summer, and the Spaniard has featured in pre-season.
He impressed in the victory over Bayern Munich on Tuesday in the absence of Robertson, and Klopp was happy with his improvement.
When asked if he 25-year-old could yet stay at Anfield, Klopp replied: “If he plays like he did today, yeah.
“That was a really good game by Alberto. That’s why we kept him playing, every second he was playing better, he was more present.
“He’s really fit. He has a little problem with his thigh, but we had a test with him this morning and he played really well.
“The players decide themselves how many games they play.”
