Klopp: Lallana injury ‘not as bad as we thought’

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp says Adam Lallana could play again this season.

The England man was forced off the pitch just five minutes after being introduced as a second-half substitute during the 2-1 win against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.

He told Liverpoolfc.com: “Thank God, that’s not as bad as we thought – a number of weeks.

“There is a little hope, of course, that we can maybe use him again this season but we have to wait. It is absolutely not the time to bring any rush into the situation.

“It is not the Adam Lallana season so far. It makes the season so far even more special when you think that we have played the season without him. He will be back for pre-season, of course.”

Speaking at his press conference, Klopp gave an update on Liverpool’s other injured players.

He said: “Joel (Matip) is out for the rest of the season, no doubt about that. It’s very serious.

“Emre (Can) will at least be very close for tomorrow – but it doesn’t look too good.

“Ragnar Klavan is unavailable. If there is a centre-half in the room I am open for talks!”
