Jurgen Klopp is reportedly attempting to persuade Kalidou Koulibaly to join Liverpool over Manchester City.
Liverpool have upped their transfer game in recent days, landing Thiago Alcantara for £20million and Diogo Jota for £41million.
But questions remain over their depth in the centre of defence with Fabinho forced to fill in in admirably in their 2-0 victory over Chelsea.
And Le Parisien (via Get Football News) are claiming the Reds are looking to hijack Man City’s move for Koulibaly from Napoli.
The Senegalese has reportedly agreed a provisional contract with Pep Guardiola’s side but Klopp is attempting a last gasp bid to change his mind.
The report claims Liverpool will use compatriot Sadio Mane to convince the £70m-rated star to move to Anfield over Man City.
Paris Saint-Germain have also been linked with Koulibaly but do not have the required funds to meet Napoli’s demands.
