Klopp: Sakho wants to be available

Liverpool’s defensive injury crisis has eased with Kolo Toure and Mamadou Sakho expected to face Arsenal on Wednesday.

Reds boss Jurgen Klopp must have feared a repeat of Friday night when Jose Enrique and Tiago Illori was the centre-back partnership to face Exeter in the FA Cup.

“The situation is better now. Kolo will be available,” said Klopp. “Mama wants to be available. Hopefully we can use him.

“Dejan feels good but it’s only six days. There will be a moment when we have to decide if it’s a risk we can try.

“We have Kolo, Mama and Lucas – so three senior centre-backs [fit].”

Liverpool face Arsenal on Wednesday and then Manchester United on Sunday with Klopp saying:  “It’s always a big challenge to play against clubs like Arsenal and Man United.

“We have shown a plan against good footballing teams.

“We shouldn’t talk too much about my experiences of playing against Arsenal. We will find a current plan for this game.

“One thing is always the same [with Arsenal], they are a good football playing team.

“Stoke was a good sign of what my team is capable of. We have to show it.”
