Jurgen Klopp is reportedly willing to sacrifice a summer signing in order to win the race for a £70m forward.

Fabinho, who arrived for £43.7m from Monaco at the end of May, has had to wait patiently for his chance in the Liverpool midfield.

Jurgen Klopp has spoken of his desire to bed the 25-year-old in slowly at Anfield and last month he admitted: “[He has had to] adapt to the style of play.

“If you watch Fabinho playing at Monaco, [he was] full of confidence. You come to a new club and it depends a bit on your personality.

“He’s not the loudest person on the planet, it’s not that he’s come in and said ‘sit down all of you and I’ll explain to you how we played at Monaco because we were in Champions League semi-final the year before and became French champions’.”

However, there is no denying that he has seen his game time limited so far this season and a report in Corriere dello Sport recently claimed that AC Milan are ready to make a move for Fabinho in January.

Now, a sensational report from the Mirror on Sunday suggests that Klopp is willing to offload the midfielder in order to fund a move for a Dortmund star.

Milan and Juventus are possible destinations for Fabinho, and the Liverpool boss would use the money recouped to launch a £70m bid for Christian Pulisic.

Klopp reportedly fears missing out on the BVB ace due to strong interest from Chelsea, with the 20-year-old currently on a deal that expires in 2020.

With no sign that a new deal is on the horizon, it appears Dortmund might be forced to cash in on the USA international, with a Daily Mail report suggesting Chelsea are confident they can beat Liverpool to his signature.
