Andreas Christensen is aware of Harry Kane’s quality but believes Denmark can stop him from performing in their Euro 2020 semi-final.

Denmark play England at 20:00 on Wednesday evening with a place in the tournament’s final at stake.

Kane, 27, got off to a slow start in the group stage but has now scored three goals in his last two matches.

Speaking about the striker, Christensen said: “We know his qualities, and everyone has an idea of what we can do to stop him.

“Pierre-Emile [Hojbjerg] also knows him and it may be that he can share some things.

“All players have their habits and we must take advantage of them. He is good with his feet and he is one of the best finishers in football.

“I react a lot on instinct. He is very big, so it is hard to get into his body, but he also has great qualities with his feet, so you should not get too close either.”

England go into the tie as favourites after keeping clean sheets in their opening five games.

But Denmark remain confident from their 1-0 victory against England in the Nations League last year.

Christensen added: “We can use that meeting to make us believe that it is possible [to win].

“They have a lot of support but also a lot of pressure on them.

“I feel like we have the qualities to play against everyone. As a team, I would not say they are that much better.”

The Danes have had an eventful tournament following Christian Eriksen’s collapse in the first game.

They recovered from that shock to qualify from Group B in second place, receiving plenty of admirers as a result.

When asked about their journey, England defender Harry Maguire said: “It’s been really inspiring.

“First and foremost our thoughts have always been with Christian and his recovery and we’re all right behind that.

“They’re a good team. They’ve proved that for years, they’re a top team, the highest-ranked team we will have played in this competition.

“They’re a strong team with great leaders in their team, great experience. We know it will be a tough game, but we’re really focused on ourselves.”
