Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has declared Vincent Kompany “fit and ready” for their FA Cup clash with Crystal Palace on Saturday, while Gabriel Jesus is available for selection.
Kompany last played against Palace in a previous fixture in November but was an unused substitute for their Premier League match with Tottenham last weekend.
Although Guardiola wouldn’t guarantee that Kompany would start this weekend, he did suggest however, that he is capable of starting a match as he returns to fitness.
“We will see [if he plays] – but he is fit and ready,” Guardiola said of Kompany.
“The last game he was on the bench, which means he is ready.
“We are going to play Willy Caballero. [Jesus] is fit and he has already had three weeks with us. We will see on Saturday [if he will play].”
On the match itself, a game City are favourites for with Netbet, Guardiola added: “Of course we want to go through and win that competition. Saturday is a final for us.
“Every game is complicated, so it will be tough because of the stadium, Palace’s position and because it is away.”
