Owen Hargreaves believes Tammy Abraham will be dropped by Frank Lampard when Christian Pulisic returns to full fitness.

Abraham scored and was awarded the Man of the Match award in Chelsea’s 2-0 win over Newcastle at St James’ Park.

The England international has three Premier League goals this season and has forced his way back into the team with Timo Werner now being deployed on the left of a front three.

But Hargreaves believes it will be Abraham that will make way when Pulisic returns from his hamstring injury.

“Undroppable? Timo Werner is undroppable. But I think he’s [Abraham] making himself a really good squad player,” Hargreaves told Premier League Productions after Chelsea’s win over Newcastle United.

“I think he got 15 [goals] last season. I don’t think he gets enough credit for his overall game.

“I love the fact of his size, technically I think he’s better than people give him credit for.

“He is getting goals but I think when Frank gets his best team nailed down it’ll be Ziyech on one side, Pulisic on the other, and then Werner through the middle [with] Havertz and Mount [behind].

“I think that’s going to be his best team. But Tammy is going to be really important as a squad player.”
