Lampard is no Solskjaer – Big Weekend on YT

After slipping to eighth in the Premier League table, there is a real feeling of crisis at Stamford Bridge. Nevertheless, Chelsea will be looking to turn their fortunes around, starting with this weekend’s FA Cup fourth round clash against mid-table Championship side, Luton Town.
Mark Smith and Sarah Winterburn spoke at length about Chelsea and Frank Lampard in the latest instalment of ‘Big Weekend on YouTube.‘ Winty doesn’t have much faith in the current manager and doesn’t want to compare him with the man in charge at Manchester United.
She said: “We probably have to stop mentioning Frank Lampard in the same breath as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer because bizarrely it turns out that one of them is actually quite good at this and the other one really isn’t.
“By the time you watch this, Lampard may have gone. All indications were, even over the last two weeks, that this was edging closer. Everyone was whispering about it, everyone was talking about it.
“The minute he was going to mess up and mess up properly, and that probably means losing in the FA Cup or it means dropping so far south of the Champions League places that it becomes inevitable that Chelsea wants to get rid. They’ve been actively sounding out other managers.”
Sarah also believes that there’s little new we can learn about the Blues in this upcoming fixture saying: “What we will learn this weekend? I don’t know. We’ll probably learn that Timo Werner can score goals against Luton, that’s probably what we’re going to learn again.
“You would expect them to walk through this, wouldn’t you? Even a Chelsea side which utterly lacks cohesion and looks almost chaotic at the back, I don’t think they’re going to be troubled by Luton in the same way they weren’t troubled by Morecambe. Nobody is going to remember Lampard for beating Luton, are they? I can’t see him being in the job beyond the next month.”
