Frank Lampard will join BT Sport as a regular pundit for the new Premier League season.

BT already use Steven Gerrard, Rio Ferdinand and Paul Scholes and have now added to their Golden Generation list.

Having retired from playing, Lampard will be on BT for their coverage of the Community Shield this weekend.

“I’m delighted to be joining BT Sport,” Lampard said.

“I’m looking forward to an exciting new season both here and in Europe and can’t wait to begin working with the team.”

BT Sport’s head of sport Simon Green was also understandably proud to announce the appointment.

“It’s no secret that Frank had many offers, both within the game and elsewhere, following his retirement, so we are absolutely thrilled that he has chosen to join the team at BT Sport,” said Green.

“Frank needs no introduction as a Chelsea and England legend and he has already shown in his first appearances as a broadcaster that he is going to be a shrewd and insightful expert.

“Frank’s incredible pedigree on the field means that he’ll regularly be commenting on a competition that he’s won as a player, which we believe gives him fantastic credibility.”
