Leeds United boss Javi Gracia is in danger of losing his job following Sunday’s 4-1 defeat at Bournemouth, according to reports.

The Whites endured a torrid April which has left them in great danger of being relegated from the Premier League.

Sunday’s heavy loss made it 23 goals conceded in the entire month as Gracia led his side to one win, one draw and five losses from seven matches.

Crucially, the only games they did not lose were against relegation rivals Nottingham Forest and Leicester City, respectively.

Avoiding defeat in these two matches is clearly not good enough and after a grand total of 11 league games as head coach, Gracia’s future is being ‘considered’, according to The Athletic.

The report states that Leeds are ‘considering’ Gracia’s future after the loss at Bournemouth.

His role at the club is currently ‘under discussion’ as the club’s hierarchy decides whether or not to make another managerial change with only four games remaining.

It is noted that the ‘final say’ comes down to chairman Andrea Radrizzani.

The remaining fixtures are pretty horrible from a Leeds point of view. Next up? Table toppers and reigning Premier League champions, Manchester City.

They then host third-placed Newcastle United before a trip to West Ham and a match at home to Tottenham on the final day of the season.

Gracia’s side will hope the Hammers and Spurs have nothing to come for at the time of their respective fixtures.

In the wake of the 4-1 defeat at the Vitality Stadium, the Leeds players apologised to fans in a statement on Monday.

Not only noting the unacceptable performance, they also addressed a video that went viral on social media.

The players are clipped ignoring a young fan as they left their hotel to travel back to Yorkshire.

This clip has been described as ‘concerning’ and the club have urged the parents of the fan to come forward.

The full statement read: ‘As the first team squad at Leeds United, we wanted to reach out to the fan base regarding yesterday’s game and subsequent posts on social media.

‘Firstly, the performance was not good enough. There is no other way to look at it and the only way to respond is on the pitch. Leeds fans travel up and down the country in huge numbers and deserve more than this.

‘What is just as concerning to us as a group, is the video online of us leaving the hotel. Words can’t express how sorry we are that the youngster in the video wearing the Leeds kit is not shown more love from the squad. On a matchday we do an activation walk, before and after this we stop for photos and autographs to ensure we interact with fans, but also that we are on time when leaving for games. However, there is no excuse for not acknowledging fans and if the parents of the fan wearing the Leeds kit in the video could make themselves known to us, we would be grateful.

‘We do not believe that this fight is over and we will keep going until the last ball is kicked this season. Thank you again for your support.’
