Leeds set to sign Adams

Leeds United are ‘set to sign’ RB Leipzig and USA midfielder Tyler Adams for total fee of £20m, according to reports.

Jesse Marsch has previously managed Adams at New York Red Bulls and RB Leipzig.

The midfielder signed for the German side at the start of 2019. He has played 102 times for them over the past few seasons.

Adams is primarily a defensive midfielder but he is also capable of playing at right-back and right midfield.

The USA international is being targeted as a replacement for Kalvin Phillips, who has joined Manchester City for £45m.

Fabrizio Romano is reporting that Leeds United’s deal to sign Adams for £20m is now ‘completed’.

The player will now travel to England before he undergoes a medical. He has ‘always’ been their ‘main target’ along with Marc Roca.

He adds that Leeds will now ‘not bid’ for Red Bull Salzburg midfielder Mohamed Camara.

Elsewhere, Feyenoord will reportedly receive a club-record fee for Luis Sinisterra with Leeds United ready to bring the Colombian to the Premier League.

Sinisterra joined the Dutch club from Once Caldas for around £1.8million in 2018.

The 23-year-old has scored 35 goals and provided 29 assists in 113 games for Feyenoord and has previously been linked with Newcastle United.

He was particularly impressive last term, contributing to 37 goals as his side reached the final of the Europa Conference League.

According to De Telegraaf, Sinisterra will ‘shatter’ Feyenoord’s record sale by joining Leeds. The report notes that Everton are also interested.

Marcel van der Kraan claims that the Whites have targetted the player for a ‘long’ time with Raphinha set to leave for either Barcelona, Chelsea or Arsenal.

The five-cap Colombia forward will cost between €20-30million, though it is ‘inconceivable’ that Feyenoord will be ‘satisfied’ with €20m.

If Everton look to trump Leeds’ offer, the Eredisivie outfit could receive a ‘top prize’, but it currently looks like the Yorkshire club will sign Sinisterra.

The news has also been confirmed by transfer expert Fabrizio Romano. The Italian journalist says personal terms have been agreed and ‘talks are progressing’ between the two clubs over a fee.
