Ronaldo has joked that he will “get in shape” to rescue the ailing form of Real Madrid.
Real were crowned Spanish and European champions last season, but have started this campaign out of sorts.
The shock 1-0 defeat at home to Real Betis in midweek was their first loss of the season, but they have also drawn with Levante and Valencia.
Zinedine Zidane’s side find themselves all the way down in eighth in the La Liga table, and Cristiano Ronaldo’s suspension has been sorely felt – three sides have scored more goals.
Legendary former striker Ronaldo, scorer of 104 goals in 177 with the club from 2002 to 2007, has offered to return to the club.
“I’ll get in shape myself,” he joked.
The icon added, in an interview with AS: “I don’t think Madrid have been lacking anything over the last few years, they’ve already shown what they are capable of.
“Last season they went through something similar and went on to win the league and the Champions League. This season is only just starting.
“Even after winning everything we’ve won up to now, three poor games at home means the questions are starting but there is absolutely no doubt about the capabilities of the team.”
