Leicester have entered advanced talks with Celtic over a move for striker Odsonne Edouard, according to reports.

The Frenchman has caught the attention of Premier League scouts by scoring 37 league goals for Celtic in the last two seasons.

He’s been heavily linked with an Arsenal switch, but it seems the Gunners have been beaten to the transfer.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Leicester are working to complete a deal for Edouard.

The Foxes are confident about a move being finalised in the coming weeks as negotiations are going well.

They’re working to announce it as quickly as possible due to interest from several other European clubs.

Edouard looks set to compete with Jamie Vardy and Kelechi Iheanacho for a place in Brendan Rodgers’ starting eleven.

Should he impress Leicester’s team of coaches then he could become Vardy’s long-term successor in attack.

Leicester’s capture of the 23-year-old would be another significant blow for Arsenal.

They’ve already lost out on a new playmaker, as Norwich star Emi Buendia has opted to join Aston Villa.

The second setback has forced the north London side into action. They’re pursuing Wolves midfielder Ruben Neves, who could partner Thomas Partey in midfield next term.

For Leicester, the signing of Edouard is an exciting prospect. He will likely thrive in their side by playing with James Maddison, Youri Tielemans and Harvey Barnes.

Good form in the Premier League might also see Edouard make his France debut. The forward has scored 17 goals in 14 matches for the U21 side but has never made Didier Deschamps’ full squad.

Rodgers will be hoping their added firepower can launch the Foxes into the Champions League places at the third time of asking.

They’ve spent most of the last two campaigns in the top four, only to miss out on the final day both times.

Qualifying for the Europa League is still a good achievement, but everyone at the King Power will be hoping for more.

The East Midlands outfit have also been linked with a move for Ozan Kabak. The centre-back recently completed a loan spell with Liverpool and has now returned to Schalke.

He is valued at around £18million.
