Leicester begin new contract talks with Evans
Leicester City have opened fresh contract talks with defender Jonny Evans, according to reports.
The defender came through the ranks at Manchester United before he made his senior debut for them during the 2007/08 season.
He enjoyed successful loan spells away with Royal Antwerp and Sunderland between 2006 and 2008. From the 2008/09 campaign onwards, he was a regular in Man Utd’s first team.

Evans left the Red Devils upon the culmination of the 2014/15 season. But he made just short of 200 appearances for the club before departing for West Brom on a permanent basis.
The Northern Ireland international spent three years in the Premier League with the Baggies. He left them to join Leicester at the end of the 2017/18 season.
He joined the Foxes for £3.5m after they activated his release clause as West Brom were relegated down to the Championship.
The centre-back joined on a three-year deal, and he has been an ever-present for Brendan Rodgers’ side since signing. Evans has made 80 appearances for Leicester in just over two years at the club.
The 32-year-old is now entering the final year of his contract and the Foxes are keen to ensure that he commits his future to the club.
A report from The Athletic has revealed that the two parties have officially opened contract talks for Evans.
The report adds that both Evans and Leicester are keen to get the deal done, so at the moment there is no reason to suspect that he will not sign a new contract soon.
