Riyad Mahrez faces a battle to restore his reputation at Leicester after his move to Manchester City fell through.
Premier League leaders City launched a late move for Mahrez after Leroy Sane was ruled out for the next six to seven weeks.
Pep Guardiola’s side are thought to have made three bids for Mahrez, starting at £50m and ending in an offer of £65m plus a mystery player.
But Leicester were holding out for considerably move for the Algerian, with Paul Hirst of The Times reporting that they wanted a ‘package’ of around £90m.
Mahrez, who handed in a transfer request in an attempt to force the move, must now reintegrate himself in a squad that has reportedly turned against him.
Sky Sports claim that Mahrez has ‘upset’ his teammates with his conduct, which has ‘left a number of Leicester players feeling angry and let down’.
