Leicester City are not about to spend the bulk of their £45m from selling Ben Chilwell to Chelsea on buying a left-back replacement.

The Foxes are interested in both Ajax’s Nicolas Tagliafico and Atalanta’s Robin Gosens but have been quoted prices of over £40m by each club.

Leicester are not interested at those kind of fancy prices so will look elsewhere for cheaper recruits, according to Sky Sports.

Elsewhere, they have been linked with Aston Villa’s Matt Targett.

It seems they would be happy to start the season with either veteran Christian Fuchs or youngster Luke Thomas at left-back; Khanya Leshabela played there in this week’s friendly win over Birmingham.

Elsewhere, Leicester are being linked with Celtic midfielder Callum McGregor, but they are likely to be given short shrift by the Scottish champions.
