Leicester winger Barnes signs new four-year deal at King Power

Leicester City winger Harvey Barnes has signed a new four-year contract at the King Power Stadium, the club has announced.
The Englishman has been with the Foxes since the age of nine and has worked his way up to the top, becoming a key player in the first team.
Barnes has over 100 appearances for the club, scoring 21 goals in the process.

He was part of Leicester’s FA Cup triumph last season as Brendan Rodgers’ men defeated Chelsea 1-0 in the final at Wembley.
Speaking to LCFC TV, Barnes said: “I’ve been here for so many years now, it feels like home. For me, it was a no-brainer. Of course, I wanted to extend my stay here.
“It’s been something that’s been going on in the background and to sign now is great. It’s right at the start of a new season as well, which I know everyone is excited about.”

After loans at MK Dons, Barnsley and West Brom, Barnes’ first full season with Leicester was the 2019/20 campaign.
He scored seven goals in 42 appearances in all competitions, being named Foxes’ Young Player of the Season as well as claiming their Goal of the Season award after a stunning goal against Sheffield United.
Last season, the 23-year-old enjoyed his best season for the Foxes, scoring 13 goals in 35 matches.
Unfortunately, he picked up a season-ending injury in their March loss at home to Arsenal.
Elsewhere, City midfielder Hamza Choudhury has been linked with a loan move to Newcastle United.
The 23-year-old played his first minutes in senior football in League One with Burton Albion in 2015/16. He featured 13 times for them that term and he rejoined them on loan the season after in the Championship.
The midfielder broke into Leicester’s first team during the 17/18 campaign. He played nine times for them that term.
The Daily Mail have reported that Steve Bruce is “pushing” for Newcastle to sign Choudhury on loan before the transfer window closes.
The report adds that the midfielder would be open to the move but the club hierarchy wants Bruce to trim the squad before the 23-year-old is brought in.
Sean Longstaff, Jeff Hendrick, Fabian Schar and Ciaran Clark are the players they are willing to listen to offers for according to the report.
