Leroy Sane leaves Germany squad for ‘private reasons’

Germany have announced that Leroy Sane has left their squad after discussions with coach Joachim Low.

The Manchester City winger was back in Low’s party after being omitted from the World Cup squad and the 22-year-old came on as a late substitute in Germany’s 0-0 draw with France in Munich on Thursday night.

But the DFB announced on Friday afternoon that Sane had left their base ahead of the friendly against Peru.

The winger’s exit comes days after he was criticised by team-mate Toni Kross, though reports suggest that this latest development is more likely to be related to the fact that Sane’s partner is heavily pregnant.
