Man Utd boss Ralf Rangnick has revealed that Edinson Cavani and Jesse Lingard are back “available” and that he does not have a problem with the Englishman.

Lingard is out of contract this summer and he was keen to sign for Newcastle United during the January transfer window.

Newcastle hoped to get the deal done on deadline day but Man Utd ended up pulling the plug on the transfer.

Five players who fluffed their FA Cup chance

The midfielder was not involved over the weekend as Man Utd were knocked out of the FA Cup by Middlesbrough.

Rangnick suggested that he had requested a few days off after his move to Newcastle fell through. Lingard later claimed that he was “advised” to take time off.

Despite this, Rangnick has confirmed that Lingard and Cavani are “available” for Man Utd’s game on Tuesday night against Burnley:

“They’re both available and will both be part of the squad for tomorrow’s game at Burnley. Both are top professionals, both have been training well,” Rangnick said (via Manchester Evening News).

“With regards to Jesse, I have a very good relationship with him, he knows I would have been willing to let him go at least until the issue with Mason [Greenwood] came up, he mentioned some personal issues.

“We have to look forward now, there are no problems whatsoever between myself and Jesse and vice versa. I’m very happy to have him in the squad and he’ll be in the squad for tomorrow night’s game.”

Rangnick went onto suggest that Man Utd are not having any trouble creating chances at the moment despite their defeat to Middlesbrough:

“Apart from playing together as a team in defence and improving and developing our defence work together we invested some time in our offensive principles and it showed in the game against West Ham and Middlesbrough where we created numerous chances.

“I can’t remember a game in the last couple of years where our team created so many chances, 30 shots on goal, in the end, it didn’t lead to the result we wanted to get but we dominated the game in most parts and we did well in creating those chances.”
