Liverpool are reportedly interested in a move for Juventus winger Federico Chiesa as Jurgen Klopp looks to add more depth to his squad.

While Liverpool are predominately focused on revamping their midfield and defence, they are also exploring the market for attacking options.

Given Roberto Firmino is set to depart, Klopp will be keen to add another option to his forward line. The Reds are currently focusing on a deal for Brighton’s Alexis Mac Allister.

Once they get that deal over the line, they are likely to move onto their next targets. As reported by Caught Offside, Chiesa is a player of interest for Liverpool this summer.

The report states that Liverpool could look to sign him in a deal worth around £38.7 million. As Juventus find themselves in the midst of a financial scandal, they could be forced to sell players this summer.

Chiesa would tick a lot of boxes for a club like Liverpool. He can play anywhere across the forward three and brings a bundle of pace and tricky to the table.

However, Klopp might be wary of the Italian’s injury record. The 25-year-old has only started in five league matches for Juventus this season having struggled with muscle, knee and fitness issues.

Liverpool aren’t alone in their interest either. German champions Bayern Munich are also said to be in the race for his signature.

With Sadio Mane looking likely to leave the club this summer, they are looking to add another wide man to their squad.

While Chiesa’s talent is obvious, Liverpool will surely be cautious over signing a player who has missed over 60 games through injury in the past few seasons.

Liverpool have struggled to get the likes of Naby Keita, Thiago Alcantara and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain fit this year.

With this being the case, they will surely be apprehensive about signing another injury-prone player.

Throughout the 2022-23 season, Chiesa has scored three goals and provided six assists across all competitions.

He has predominately played on the left wing, although he has also turned out on the right and through the middle.

Chiesa’s contract with the Italian club runs until 2025, although they might be forced to cash in on him due to their financial situation.

He would be an exciting addition to the Premier League, but Liverpool will surely be concerned by his injury-hit past.
