Liverpool join Arsenal, Chelsea in ‘crazy’ £59m striker race
Liverpool are reportedly set to rival Arsenal, Chelsea and Real Madrid in the race to sign Sweden striker Alexander Isak.
The 21-year-old has impressed in Euro 2020 group games against Spain, Slovakia and Poland, despite failing to find the net, and also enjoyed a fine season for Real Sociedad.
He scored 17 La Liga goals, was named the division’s Young Player of the Season and potential suitors are now circling.

Mikel Arteta is thought to be very keen on the striker and the Gunners have reportedly made ground ahead of Real Madrid – who have also been linked.
Arsenal bosses are said to have already held talks with Isak’s representatives, though there is a concern that the club’s lack of European football next season could be a problem.
It will be the first time Arsenal will not be competing in Europe since the 1994-95 season.
Should they agree personal terms with Isak a deal could well be struck, with Arsenal are ‘willing to meet’ Isak’s £59million release clause.
But that buyout fee could change if Sociedad offer the striker a new deal at the club – a possibility that’s been mooted following his fine club season and performances at Euro 2020.
But now, Liverpool are said to have entered the fray.
Jurgen Klopp’s side may be a more attractive prospect for Isak, who would be plying his trade in the Champions League should he opt for Anfield over the Emirates.
AS (via Sport Witness) states Liverpool are the latest English club – along with Chelsea – to join the race as the ‘Premier League goes crazy’ for Isak.
The move would please former Liverpool full-back Jose Enrique, who claims the Reds should “definitely” sign the striker if they can’t stump up the cash necessary for the likes of Erling Haaland.
Speaking about the player, Enrique said: “I know him very well because he play[s] for Real Sociedad.
“He is a top player, definitely I would sign him. [He] is really young so hopefully we can go for him, if we can’t go for Erling Haaland or someone like that.”
