Liverpool, Chelsea made to wait to land £62m target
Christian Pulisic is set to stay at Borussia Dortmund this summer despite links with two Premier League clubs, according to reports.
The highly-rated American winger has been linked with Liverpool and Chelsea, but ESPN FC claims that Dortmund expect him to stay in Germany having received no formal bids.
Pulisic, 19, notched five goals and seven assists last season, and has already scored nine goals at senior international level.
The player could well be sold next summer – his contract expires in 2020, and Dortmund don’t want to lose him on a free, with his representatives showing no sign of accepting an extension – but for now he could be staying put.
Jurgen Klopp is known to be an admirer of Pulisic, recently revealing: “I know Christian, I liked him since he was a kid.
“He’s a fantastic player, it’s deserved people think highly of him, in Germany it’s the same.
“If he wants to play in England he has the chance to do so but he’s at a really good club already.”
Pulisic could be available for around €70m (£62m).
