Liverpool and Newcastle United are seen as the main two options for Juventus winger Federico Chiesa this summer, according to reports.

Chiesa has shown his pedigree domestically and on the international stage for Italy with his availability alerting a number of clubs around Europe, especially in the Premier League.

Manchester United are the latest club to be linked with Chiesa with Corriere dello Sport claiming yesterday that the Red Devils have now joined Liverpool and Newcastle in the race to sign the winger.

The report added that ‘he can leave’ for €50m this summer after making just six starts and 15 substitute appearances in Serie A last season, contributing two goals and five assists.

And now Italian journalist Marco Guidi has told Calciomercato’s TV Play that Chiesa would prefer to sign for a “classic top club” over Newcastle this summer.

“The player would be more inclined to sign for a classic top club, such as Liverpool or Bayern Munich,” Guidi said.

But he did confirm that Newcastle have serious interest in Chiesa but they might have to wait until they sell some players before making an offer, with the sale of Allan Saint-Maximin likely to help.

“If Newcastle have the economic strength they will try to take Chiesa. The Newcastle option could only be taken into consideration at the end of the transfer market, in the case of few offers on the plate.”

Jordan Henderson is one player who is going to leave Liverpool this summer with Al Ettifaq nearing the completion of his signing from the Reds.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano provided the latest on his YouTube channel: “Jordan Henderson, the feeling is that the deal is almost done, we said ‘here we go’ and we can confirm that the agreement between Jordan Henderson and Al Ettifaq, the team trained by Steven Gerrard.

“Three-year contract. So Henderson said ‘yes’ but now also the clubs have an agreement. We said 24 hours ago that it’s for £12m fee plus add-ons…these are the terms of the agreement.

“For Jordan Henderson to join Al Ettifaq, I’m told they are still checking all the documents, so could take some days to sign the deal and see Henderson in an Al Ettifaq shirt. But the deal is done, verbally agreed and they are preparing all the contracts. Jordan Henderson is gone.”
