Liverpool defender Lovren faces two months out

Liverpool could be without Dejan Lovren for around two months after the defender suffered an injury to his ankle against Carlisle.

Lovren asked for oxygen and was stretchered off during Liverpool’s penalty shootout victory over League Two Carlisle on Wednesday, with the Croatian going over on his ankle after a clash with Alex McQueen.

The Daily Mirror claim that Lovren has suffered a suspected broken ankle, while most other outlets are reporting a slightly less severe prognosis – ankle ligament damage.

Either way, it seems the 25-year-old faces a lengthy spell on the sidelines, with most claiming that Brendan Rodgers will be without his favouritest defender for at least two months.
