Liverpool transfer ‘doors are opening’ with Premier League star ‘on alert’ despite ‘very greedy’ club
Liverpool are the firm favourites to land Southampton midfielder Romeo Lavia this summer, according to reports in Belgium.
The Reds have already signed two midfielders this summer with Alexis Mac Allister joining from Brighton for £35m and Dominik Szoboszlai arriving in a £60m deal from RB Leipzig.
However, Jordan Henderson’s imminent departure to Al Ettifaq has thrown a spanner in the works with Fabinho also reportedly likely to move on.
Liverpool could earn upwards of £12m on Henderson’s exit, while the Reds have accepted a £40m offer from Al Ittihad for Fabinho – but there are rumours that the Brazilian’s move might collapse if he can’t take his dogs to Saudi Arabia with the Reds midfielder seeking clarity over whether his two French bulldogs are classed as dangerous in the Middle Eastern country.
News of their potential departures comes after Naby Keita, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and James Milner left on free transfers at the end of June.
There are reports that Klopp will look to bring in at least another two midfielders to cover the losses with Southampton’s Lavia currently top of his list.

And now Belgian outlet La Dernière Heure claim that ‘doors are opening’ for a Liverpool transfer with Lavia ‘on alert’ ahead of a potential move to Anfield.
Chelsea and Arsenal are also interested in Lavia but the Belgium international is a ‘priority’ for Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool, unlike their two Premier League rivals, who have other irons in the fire.
Despite being relegated from the Premier League last season, La Dernière Heure insists Championship side Southampton are being ‘very greedy’ by asking Liverpool for €60m (£52m) for the 19-year-old.
There is a feeling that Liverpool will be rewarded for their ‘time and patience’ with Saints knowing they have to sell players this summer to balance the books after relegation.
Klopp insists that the Reds “will have a good team” by the time the transfer window closes despite uncertainty surrounding a number of his players.
“My main focus and my main energy has to go into the training sessions, that’s what I do,” Klopp said over the weekend.
“The time left and right of the sessions then I can try and sort other stuff, and that’s what we are doing.
“Still around three to four weeks until the first game of the season, a few things have to happen until then. Definitely. Transfer market-wise as well, that’s clear now. It will happen, and we will have a good team.”
