RB Leipzig striker Timo Werner has been urged to swap Germany for Liverpool by Naby Keita and Sadio Mane.

Werner has bagged 45 goals in 83 Bundesliga appearances since joining Leipzig from Stuttgart in 2016 and has been frequently linked with a move to Liverpool.

The 22-year-old already has 23 caps for Germany with nine goals to establish himself as an important member of Die Mannschaft’s squad.

He will only have a year remaining on his contract in June and former team-mate Keita has urged Werner to move to Anfield if Jurgen Klopp decides to table an offer this summer.

“We played very well together in Leipzig and he was one of my best friends, it’s clear that should he change, I’d ask Timo to come to Liverpool with us,” Keita was quoted as saying to Sport Bild by Leipzig-based newspaper Sportbuzzer.

In the same report, Mane said: “I like his way of playing: very powerful, good finish, always with 100 percent in. If he wants to join us, we like to welcome him into our team.”
