Liverpool have identified a potential successor to Mohamed Salah as the Egyptian forward continues to be linked with Al Ittihad.

With the end of the summer transfer window now in sight, things could get tasty at Anfield over the next few days.

Jurgen Klopp will be keen to add to his squad before the end of the window, but he will also be desperate to keep his star players around.

It recently came to light that Al Ittihad are targeting Salah this summer and they would be prepared to hand him a ridiculously lucrative contract.

Klopp has insisted that Salah isn’t for sale this summer, but the Saudi club could come in with an offer which is too good to refuse.

As Liverpool will want to prepare for all eventualities, they have started to sound out some potential Salah replacements.

The Reds have been linked with Atletico Madrid’s Joao Felix as a possible replacement and they are also considering a Premier League star.

According to Football Transfers, Liverpool have listed West Ham’s Jarrod Bowen as a potential replacement for Salah.

The winger has been in fine form so far this season with two goals and an assist in his opening three matches.

Bowen’s most productive season came back in 2021-22 when he scored 12 league goals and provided 10 assists.

Liverpool have been linked with a move for Bowen in the past and the exit talk surrounding Salah could spark their interest back to life.

The 26-year-old winger is under contract at West Ham until 2025 and the Hammers will surely be desperate to keep hold of him.

While Liverpool are said to be exploring the market for Salah alternatives, Klopp is sure that the player is committed to the club.

“Mo is a super experienced player and 100 per cent committed to us here, to the club,” Klopp told Sky Sports.

Saudi Clubs can continue to sign players until September 2o, which is three weeks after the Premier League transfer window shuts. Klopp has discussed this as a potential problem.

“A normal club in the Premier League or in other leagues, it’s always possible that a big club comes in and wants players off you. Now that market is extended,” he said. “I don’t know if I’m worried about it or not, we will have to see.

“We have our own experience with it, with Hendo and Fabinho. But in general, what is a real problem is the longer transfer window.

“It’s a real problem because as long as you have the chance to react it’s pretty much part of the business a little bit. When we can’t react anymore it’s a catastrophe. That’s the truth.”
