Liverpool let €12m midfielder ‘quit’ this summer as ‘TAA plan’ forces Klopp into market for signing

According to reports, Liverpool have made the decision to let Thiago Alcantara ‘quit’ this summer amid interest from the Saudi Pro League.
The Premier League giants paid around £20m to sign Thiago from Bayern Munich in 2020.
He has been impacted by injuries over the past three seasons as he has been restricted to 67 appearances in the Premier League.
Ahead of this summer, Thiago was expected to remain at Liverpool heading into the final year of his contract but he is now being linked with a potential €12m exit with the Saudi Pro League and FC Barcelona interested.
Liverpool have already lost James Milner, Naby Keita and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain this summer. They departed upon the expiry of their contracts, while Jordan Henderson and Fabinho are now being pursued by Saudi clubs in deals worth around £50m combined.
Football Insider are now reporting that Liverpool are ‘willing to accept’ an offer for Thiago and his exit this summer ‘cannot be ruled out’.
Despite the imminent departures of Henderson and Fabinho, Thiago ‘could still be allowed to quit Anfield this summer if the circumstances are right’. The report adds.
‘It is believed Thiago could still be allowed to quit Anfield this summer if the circumstances are right. A well-placed source has told Football Insider that the midfielder’s age and injury problems mean Liverpool are receptive to letting him leave the club.
‘The finances on offer from Saudi Arabian clubs, who are interested in Thiago’s services, could prove too good to turn down for the Reds. However, Liverpool would first need to add new midfielders to their squad as part of their much-anticipated rebuild.’

Another recent report from Football Insider delves into Liverpool’s ‘long-term plan’ for England international Trent Alexander-Arnold.
The Reds apparently ‘could now swoop for more right-back cover’ with Alexander-Arnold ‘expected to continue in his midfield role’. The report continues.
‘But making such a move permanently would leave Liverpool short of right-back options if they were to shift back to a back four.
‘James Milner, who often filled in at right-back as well as in several other roles, has departed on a free transfer to Brighton while Calvin Ramsay has gone on loan to Preston North End.
‘It is believed Liverpool are scouring the market for potential right-back cover with big money expected to arrive in the transfer kitty in the coming days.’
