Premier League leaders Liverpool have “no interest” in buying Jack Grealish from Aston Villa, according to a BBC Sport journalist.

Andy Gray said on Monday that Grealish would walk into Liverpool’s midfield as he is better than both Naby Keita and Georginio Wijnaldum.

Our feature on Monday has him as the best player outside the ‘big six’ Premier League clubs – but it seems any reports linking him with the Reds are wide of the mark.

BBC Sport journalist Mandeep Sanghera said: “Liverpool are believed to have no interest in signing Aston Villa midfielder Jack Grealish.

“Grealish, who was close to joining Tottenham in the summer of 2018 has been one of the shining lights at Villa Park this term and has been linked with moves to several other Premier League clubs.

“Both Manchester clubs have been mentioned as possible destinations for Grealish, but it understood that Liverpool, who have previously been offered the chance to sign the player, are not interested in him.”
