Real Madrid are looking at potential alternatives in case their potential deal for Paris Saint-Germain forward Neymar falls through, according to reports.
The Spanish giants are facing an uphill struggle to take Neymar back to La Liga, with the only way to get the deal done being to offer several players in a swap. Coupled with the interest from Neymar’s former side Barcelona, Madrid will not find it easy to sign the PSG star.
Just like Neymar, none of those three players will come on the cheap, with the report pricing Mane and Sancho up at more than €160m each.
However, Borussia Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke has recently admitted that they may have to concede defeat in their efforts to keep England winger Sancho long-term.
“There aren’t many 19-year-olds with such a potential,” he said. “He is also not a player from the region or one who would have any connection to it.
“When you have a player like Jadon Sancho, you must reassess the situation every single year. Everything else would not be honest. If a foreign player is not convinced that the club is right for him at the exact time, it just does not make any sense.”
With all three targets still on long-term contracts, though, Madrid may not find it any easier to land any of them.
