RB Leipzig striker Timo Werner has labelled the Premier League as “the most interesting league” as he continues to be linked with English clubs.

Manchester United and Liverpool have been touted as the likeliest of suitors from the Premier League’s perspective, with Chelsea also credited with an interest.

The Germany international has scored 23 goals and seven assists in all competitions this season, helping Leipzig climb to the top of the Bundesliga standings.

Werner’s displays have seen the 23-year-old become the undisputed number one choice at centre-forward for his country, and has attracted interest from all corners of Europe for his signature.

And Werner picked out the Premier League and Spain as particularly interesting destinations if he were to leave Germany.

Werner told Bild: “The Premier League is certainly the most interesting league, you have to say. There is a certain flair to watching the English league and playing there.

“But many Germans have also been very successful in Spain, such as Sami Khedira and Mesut Ozil.”
