Liverpool offer for £30m midfielder ‘expected’ as Man Utd circle
Liverpool are paying close attention to Brighton midfielder Yves Bissouma ahead of the January transfer window, according to reports.
The Mali international, who signed from Lille in the summer of 2018, has been a squad player for Brighton over the last couple of seasons with the 24-year-old regularly climbing off the bench for the Seagulls.
However, this season he has started every Premier League match for Graham Potter’s side and his performances are now attracting interest from a number of clubs.
THE TREBLE: Fragile Liverpool, Arsenal recovery, Man Utd title
TalkSPORT previously linked Bissouma to Liverpool earlier this month with the Reds looking to replace Georginio Wijnaldum, who looks likely to depart Anfield over the next couple of transfer windows.
And now ESPN claims that Bissouma is ‘being closely followed’ by the Reds as ‘a potential replacement’ for Wijnaldum, who is out of contract in the summer.
The report values Bissouma at £30m and adds that Bissouma ‘fits the profile of potential players that Liverpool sporting director Michael Edwards and the club’s recruitment team are interested in’.
Man Utd and Monaco are ‘also keeping tabs’ on the midfielder with Brighton ‘expecting to receive offers for him’ which means Liverpool ‘are giving thought to making a move for Bissouma before other clubs firm up their interest’.
