Liverpool are reportedly willing to spend big to sign a ‘secret obsession’ of Jurgen Klopp from Napoli this summer.

Khvicha Kvaratskhelia is the man Klopp’s infatuated with, with the Georgian key to the Serie A side’s 4-1 win over Liverpool back in September.

Kvaratskhelia, who only moved to Napoli from Dinamo Batumi in the summer for €10m, has caught the eye of some of Europe’s biggest clubs this season with his performance both in the Champions League and Serie A, with Manchester City and Real Madrid also rumoured to be keeping tabs.

The 22-year-old has 14 goals and 16 assists in all competitions, thriving in partnership with Victor Osimhen for the runaway Serie A leaders.

And reports have claimed that interested parties may struggle to lure Kvaratskhelia away from the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium given the widespread interest in Osimhen, who’s thought to be more likely to make a move this summer.

But Kvaratskhelia is a ‘secret obsession’ for Klopp and Liverpool according to Fichajes (via Sport Witness).

The report claims that Liverpool would be ‘willing to put on the table a financial offer powerful enough to make him one of the great stars next season’.

It does though seem unlikely that Liverpool would be ‘willing to satisfy the wishes’ of Napoli and put ‘€130m on the table’ give they’ve reportedly pulled out of the race to sign Jude Bellingham due to the England international’s price tag of over €100m.

In February, Kvaratskhelia’s agent confirmed there has been plenty of interest in his client, but insisted the winger is focused on his career at Napoli for the timebeing.

“There is a lot of interest from other clubs. Kvara, however, is only thinking about winning the Scudetto and Napoli’s matches in the Champions League,” Mamuka Jugeli said.

Jugeli of course refused to rule out a move in the future for Kvaratskhelia, but did insist it would have to be an offer from abroad for him to consider leaving Naples.

“He loves being [for Napoli],” the agent explained. “He told me that in terms of football in Italy he sees himself only in Naples. He will never play for any other Italian club, apart from Napoli. He feels in Naples as at home.”
