Liverpool have dismissed a report that they have agreed a £17million deal to sign Trabzonspor star Abdulkadir Omur.

Turkish outlet Ajanspor claimed that a €20million transfer has been hammered out for the 19-year-old, although the deal would not be announced until the summer with Trabzonspor keen to avoid alienating their fanbase.

Omur recently confirmed there had been interest from Liverpool.

Turkish Football quote him as saying: “Liverpool are a great club, one of the greatest in the world. These offers are something Trabzonspor need to discuss.

“If the club give the go ahead talks can be held. The clubs interests take precedence. I’ll do whatever is in the club’s best interests.

“My priority is Trabzonspor but I have a dream to play in Europe, I hope I play there one day. My dream is to succeed here and then go to Europe.”

Despite all the talk from Turkey, the Liverpool Echo says the Reds have denied that discussions over the teenager have taken place and that Omur isn’t on the club’s list of transfer targets for the coming summer.
