Liverpool ‘ready to pay’ €130m to complete huge double deal as Klopp attempts to ‘break marriage’
According to reports, Liverpool are ‘ready to pay’ €90m to sign Chelsea target Federico Valverde from La Liga giants Real Madrid.
Liverpool were always going to be busy during this summer’s transfer window and they have already splashed out to sign Alexis Mac Allister from Brighton.
The Premier League giants are still looking to sign one or two more midfielders before next season as Valverde has emerged as a shock target.
The Uraguay international has been a sensational asset for Real Madrid in recent years and he helped them win the Champions League last year.
Spanish outlet Nacional are reporting that ‘more movements are expected’ at Real Madrid following the arrival of Jude Bellingham and exit of Karim Benzema.
Valverde could be a ‘relevant sale’ as he has ‘received interest from several Premier League teams’ including Chelsea and Man City. Liverpool are said to be ‘leading the race’ as they are ‘ready to pay up to 90 million euros’ for the midfielder.
Though it is noted that Valverde is leaning towards staying at Real Madrid and at the moment he is not considering ‘breaking up the marriage’.
It would be a major coup if Liverpool signed, but it is worth noting that deals for Nice’s Khephren Thuram and Borussia Monchengladbach’s Manu Kone are more likely at this stage.
While Liverpool’s priority is to sign new midfielders, Football Insider are reporting that they will ‘100 per cent sign a centre-back this summer’. They add.
‘The Reds are currently assessing the market and have made preliminary moves over signing a new central defender.
‘Although it looks unlikely that Joel Matip will leave this summer, as he enters the final year of his contract, the Reds are attempting to get ahead of the curve and prepare for his potential exit by bringing in defensive reinforcements.
‘Wolfsburg’s Micky van de Ven is one of several options that the Merseysiders are considering.’

Liverpool are well-covered in attacking areas with Mo Salah, Diogo Jota, Luis Diaz, Cody Gakpo and Darwin Nunez to choose from.
But they are being linked with Juventus winger Federico Chiesa. Italian outlet Gazzetta dello Sport are reporting Liverpool are ‘following him’ and they are now ‘ready to put real money on the table’ in an attempt to pure him away from the Serie A giants.
It is reportedly ‘no secret’ that Klopp ‘really likes the player’ and it’s hinted that Liverpool are planning an opening offer of around €40m.
This will not be enough to get Chiesa ‘negotiations would officially begin’ with Juventus if they receive a bid worth €60m.
The report also claims Liverpool face competition from Bayern Munich, Chelsea and PSG for Chiesa.
