Romano: Liverpool ‘open talks’ to sign Man Utd, Chelsea target after Arsenal ‘work on deal for 15 days’

Fabrizio Romano claims Liverpool have now opened talks to sign Southampton midfielder Romeo Lavia with Arsenal yet to make an official bid.
The Reds are looking for at least one or two more midfield signings this summer after sealing a £35m deal for Alexis Mac Allister from Brighton earlier this summer.
Liverpool have been linked with numerous midfielders and now transfer expert Romano insists they have joined the race to sign Saints star Lavia, who has been attracting interest from Arsenal, Manchester United and Chelsea.
Romano wrote on Twitter: “Understand Liverpool asked conditions of Roméo Lavia deal, they’re in the race. Arsenal, working on this deal for 15 days — no official bid from both clubs yet. #LFC Man Utd and Chelsea, monitoring the situation but not in active talks yet.”
He added on his own YouTube channel: “We already told you last week that Romeo Lavia is on Arsenal’s list and Arsenal already had some positive conversations but there is still no official bid. We know the priority is to solve other stuff, like [Jurrien] Timber, [Declan] Rice and many others, of course Havertz will be official.
“But guys it remains important to say that Romeo Lavia remains on Arsenal’s list as one of the players they appreciate, waiting to understand the future of Thomas Partey, who is prioritising European clubs over Saudi clubs at the moment.

“But let’s see what’s going to happen for Thomas Partey. Romeo Lavia is on the Arsenal list but, from what I understand, also Liverpool. Liverpool have opened talks to sign Romeo Lavia. So Liverpool have an interest in Lavia, Man United asking about the situation, Chelsea did the same a few weeks ago. So both clubs are informed but at the moment they are not that close or active on this deal because it also depends on the timing.
“But for Liverpool, Romeo Lavia is one of the players they are considering. We know about (Khephren] Thuram, we know about Manu Kone, especially Thuram in this moment for Liverpool is a concrete target but we also have to add Romeo Lavia to their list as he is one of the targets they appreciate.
“It is important to remind you about Romeo Lavia that this deal is going to be expensive. This is not going to be an easy deal. Terms and conditions of the deal and payment terms are going to be something crucial for Southampton as they want a really big fee. More than £40m for Romeo Lavia.”
