Al-Ittihad ‘sure’ Salah will leave Liverpool in £150m deal as Barca star ‘orders’ Xavi to let him join ‘furious’ Klopp
Saudi Pro League side Al-Ittihad are ‘sure’ that Mo Salah will complete a move from Liverpool before the transfer window shuts, according to a journalist.
The Reds have already been badly stung by Saudi Arabian interest in their players this summer with Jordan Henderson and Fabinho attracted to the Middle East.
It is understood that Jurgen Klopp would’ve ideally liked to keep the midfielders at the club but the wealth on offer was too great to convince them to stay at Anfield.
Ibrahima Konate and Joe Gomez have also been linked with a move to Al-Ittihad, while the Saudi club’s interest in Salah is the most high-profile of them all.
There have been rumours that they are willing to offer Salah as much as £191m a year to move to Saudi Arabia with former Premier League striker Jan Aage Fjortoft reporting yesterday that it’s “likely” the Egyptian will leave Liverpool “this week”.
A report on Thursday morning in the Daily Mail insisted that Al-Ittihad are now ready to test Liverpool’s resolve by offering £118m for the 31-year-old

The newspaper added that Reds boss Klopp ‘would be furious at the club if Salah were to leave this summer’ with Liverpool ‘aware any Salah exit could derail their season and Klopp’s entire project at Anfield’.
But Daily Mail journalist Craig Hope, while hosting the Daily Mail’s transfer live stream, claimed that a Saudi Arabian contact has told him Al-Ittihad are “sure” Salah will join them.
Hope said: “I spent a little bit of time out in Riyadh in December and made a few contacts around the Saudi Pro League.
“I got a text through about five or 10 minutes ago from one of those contacts saying parties close to Al-Ittihad are sure Salah is going to come, which I thought was quite strong.”
Sky Sports have also brought their latest take on the situation by insisting that the Saudis are hoping they can ‘tempt Salah to push’ for the £150m move this summer.
The report claims:
‘Al-Ittihad and the Saudi league are aware Liverpool will refuse to budge on their stance that the Egyptian is not for sale.
‘And the figures being mentioned – in the region of between £130m-£150m inclusive of add-ons – will not soften that position.
‘They are therefore hoping that they can successfully tempt Salah to push for the move.’
And the Reds could need a replacement in the coming couple of days with Liverpool-linked Abde Ezzalzouli telling Barcelona boss Xavi to accept offers from the Premier League for him before the transfer deadline, according to Spanish publication Nacional.
There was a report that Liverpool have ‘asked’ about Adbe and Barcelona team-mate Ansu Fati – who is on the verge of joining Brighton in a loan deal – and Nacional now claim that Abde has ‘appeared in Xavi Hernandez’s office and has ordered that he be allowed to pack his bags before the end of the summer market’.
Abde is ‘aware that there is enormous competition in attack’ at Barcelona and the Morocco international wants a regular starting place at another club.
They add that Liverpool’s Premier League rivals Aston Villa are ‘gaining strength in the auction’ while Bundesliga outfit Bayer Leverkusen are ‘also planning to make a try to prevent him from ending up in the Premier League’.
