Liverpool to be scuppered by Fulham asking price as Spurs turn to £50m man?

Ryan Gravenberch will only cost Liverpool £25m and change but that’s not the price tag that could scupper the deal…

GRAVENBERCH PRICE REVEALED
After showing their hand with the Moises Caicedo bid, Liverpool have been confused about why every other asking price has gone through the roof, with Crystal Palace reportedly scaring them off by wanting £70m for Cheick Doucoure.

But one club that does not appear to have been paying attention is Bayern Munich, who are willing to let Ryan Gravenberch join Liverpool as long as they stump up just £25.76m (according to Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg), with the Bavarian club happy to make a profit on the Dutchman and use it to fund a move for another defensive midfielder.

The problem? They want Fulham midfielder Joao Palhinha and they want him for not much over £50m, which might be an issue because the Cottagers have been telling the media that they won’t accept less than £60m, £80m or on one occasion £90m.

And without bagging Palhinha, Bayern will not sell Gravenberch.

HEY FATI DONE DONE
This is a genuine coup. Chelsea and Tottenham were both said to be interested in Barcelona winger Ansu Fati but he has chosen Brighton after talks with boss Roberto De Zerbi about what is on offer on the south coast. He and his club have agreed a one-year loan in which the Seagulls will pay the bulk of his wages.

Fati started only 12 La Liga games last year but still scored seven goals. That will come as welcome news to Brighton, who certainly have the players to create chances if not actually put them in the back of the net.

SPURS TURN TO JOHNSON
‘After the decision of Ansu Fati to join #Brighton, #Tottenham will focus on Brennan #Johnson. #THFC – as revealed days ago – already made contact with #NottinghamForest to understand the conditions of the deal and now the talks will continue: evolving situation. #NFFC’

That’s the tweet from Rudy Galetti, who does not mention a price for Johnson but it has been repeatedly reported that the price is a quite massive £50m. That seems a lot for a player with eight Premier League goals to his name.

The Daily Mail say that Brentford have not given up and will return after a £43m bid was rejected but it seems inconceivable that Johnson would opt to join the Bees if he thinks Spurs are interested.
