Liverpool look set to lose Gini Wijnaldum to Barcelona this summer as the deal is reportedly ’95 percent done’.

The Holland international has run down his contract at Anfield ahead of a potential move.

He was asked recently about his future and said it was ‘difficult’ to come to a decision.

Wijnaldum has been closely linked with Barca and it looks like they’ve won the race for his signature.

According to Football Insider, his summer switch to the Nou Camp is ’95 percent complete’.

The report states that Barca officials are confident of bringing Wijnaldum to the club.

They’re using his close relationship with compatriot Ronald Koeman as bait.

Koeman worked with Wijnaldum during his time as Dutch national team boss, before he took the Barca job.

Wijnaldum is thought to view the transfer as his ‘dream move’, having held a soft spot for the Spanish giants since childhood.

Barca are in competition with Antonio Conte’s Inter Milan for the 30-year-old’s signature.

Speaking about his future at a press conference earlier this week, Wijnaldum said: “All I can say is I’m really happy with the club, with the team, staff and the fans for who I play. It is not that I’m not happy or that I have to leave.

“It’s not as easy as everyone thinks it is to make decisions about your future, you have to think about everything and then first negotiate with the clubs. It’s so difficult and it’s why it takes so long, also I think the situation we’re in right now means it’s not the most important thing.

“That is getting back on track and winning games and then we will see. I’m happy with the fans, the team, the staff, beside that there is no news.

“It will be difficult but you don’t know the situation, why you have to leave it always depends on the situation. But I would be devastated that I don’t play with this team anymore, that is for sure.”

Wijnaldum is expected to feature in Liverpool’s next match. They play Wolves in the Premier League on Monday at 20:00.
